Caterpillars Room

The Caterpillar room is a large open plan room with a separate cosy area where children can relax and look at their favourite book. The home corner is always available, the children enjoy engaging in role play whether it be making cups of tea, dinner for their friends or helping with the washing up!

The children are always busy and have a wide range of learning opportunities available to them which focuses on their interests. Communication and language is a focus in the Caterpillar room as the children are becoming more vocal, building on their communication skills allows the children to build friendships and become more independent.

The children usually begin toileting at this age, the staff offer a potty-training pack to parents and children to take home which supports the transition from nappies to toilet. Reward charts and books about potty training help the children prepare for this change.
